Community Guidelines

1. Be Kind and Respectful

• Do:Speak to others the way you would want to be spoken to — with patience, empathy, and care.
• Do:Disagreements happen. Express them calmly and constructively.
• Don’t:No insults, name-calling, or personal attacks — towards Listeners, Seekers, or BookMySessions staff.
• Don’t:No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language based on religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, race, or nationality.

2. Protect Privacy — Yours and Others'

• Do:What is shared in a session stays in a session. Treat all disclosures as strictly private.
• Do:Use your anonymous username. You are never required to share your real identity.
• Don’t:Do not share another user's personal information — real name, location, workplace, photos — inside or outside the platform.
• Don’t:Do not screenshot, record, or share session conversations anywhere.
• Don’t:Listeners must never contact Seekers outside the BookMySessions platform using information obtained through sessions.

3. Listeners — Be Honest and Professional

• Do:Represent your credentials, experience, and skills accurately. Only claim expertise you genuinely hold.
• Do:Be present and attentive during sessions. Seekers come here when they genuinely need support.
• Do:If a Seeker shows signs of a mental health crisis or risk to life, guide them to emergency services (112) and report to BookMySessions immediately.
• Don’t:Do not provide clinical diagnoses, psychiatric assessments, or medical prescriptions — even if you are a licensed professional. BookMySessions sessions are peer support only.
• Don’t:Do not solicit payments, gifts, or services outside the BMS Coin system.
• Don’t:Do not market or sell external products, courses, or services to Seekers during or after sessions.

4. Minors — Zero Tolerance

• Don’t:BookMySessions is strictly for users aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, you must not use this platform.
• Don’t:Any sexual, exploitative, or grooming content or behaviour involving a minor — or anyone — will result in immediate permanent ban and mandatory reporting to law enforcement under POCSO Act, 2012.
• Don’t:Do not attempt to identify, contact, or obtain the real identity of any user who may be a minor.
• Do:If you suspect a minor is on the platform or witness any child safety concern, report it immediately via the in-app report button or at safety@bookmysessions.in.

5. No Scams, Fraud, or Manipulation

• Don’t:Do not create fake profiles, impersonate others, or misrepresent your identity or qualifications.
• Don’t:Do not use the platform to conduct scams, phishing, or deceptive schemes of any kind.
• Don’t:Do not manipulate Seekers emotionally to extract money, personal information, or favours beyond the scope of a legitimate session.
• Don’t:Do not use bots, fake reviews, or coordinated accounts to inflate ratings or manipulate search results.

6. No Harmful Content

• Don’t:No content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or substance abuse.
• Don’t:No pornographic, sexually explicit, or obscene content of any kind.
• Don’t:No content that promotes terrorism, communal violence, or any form of organised harm.
• Do:Discussing struggles with mental health, addiction, or difficult experiences is allowed and encouraged — in a supportive, non-glorifying way.

7. Use BMS Coins Fairly

• Do:BMS Coins are the only accepted payment method on the platform. All transactions go through the app.
• Don’t:Do not attempt to exchange BMS Coins for real money, initiate fraudulent refund requests, or file false chargebacks.
• Don’t:Do not share, sell, or transfer your account or BMS Coin balance to another person.

8. Report, Don't Retaliate

• Do:If something makes you uncomfortable or you witness a violation, use the in-app report button. Our moderation team reviews all reports.
• Do:For urgent safety concerns — suicide risk, abuse, or criminal activity — contact us at safety@bookmysessions.in or call emergency services (112).
• Don’t:Do not use the report system to target, harass, or get back at users you dislike. Abuse of the report system is itself a violation.

Consequences of Violations

1. 1Warning — For first-time or minor violations — a formal notice with guidance on what was violated.
2. 2Temporary Suspension — Repeated violations or moderate severity — account suspended for a defined period.
3. 3Permanent Ban — Severe violations (scams, POCSO, criminal conduct, repeated breach after warnings) — permanent removal with no appeal.
4. !Law Enforcement Referral — Any violation involving a minor, threats of violence, criminal fraud, or harassment — reported to the Cyber Crime Cell and/or police with no prior warning required.
